The Cotswold Canal Trust and their partners were vying to secure £8.9m from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to further restore the local canal in Stroud. The pandemic had ruled out the usual process of a visit from the fund, so the Trust wanted a film to help persuade them from afar.
The film helped the trust to win £8.9 million of funding from the National Lottery and has allowed work to progress on the next phase of the canal restoration.
In order to film 49 people across 9 miles of the canal, we took a case-study/testimonial approach that highlighted the story of the canal restoration and showcase the work of all those involved. The idea was to give the Fund a glimpse into the impact of the work, so the film also needed to show all the scenery and make them feel like they were there.
